I'm on the move!

I'm moving to Charlotte, NC at the end of the month! I got a job teaching 2nd grade at a fabulous Christian school there, and am really looking foward to being there. It all happened extremely fast, and still feels like a dream to me. However, through talking with people, and from big events like finding an apartment to the small things like opening up a bank account there, I and my family was clearly able to see that I am right where God wants me to be. Now, we are in the process of packing up everything and squeezing in a visit to my sister and her fam in Kentucky before I move! I can now sympathize with those of you who have packed up and moved! It's a chore! :)

So I'm back from my 2 week trip to China and a long weekend trip to MN to see my brother in law receive his Master of Divinity degree. China is a beautiful country...with lots and lots of people. The first city we were at, Nanjing "only" has 7 million people, and the last city we were in, Shanghai has 17 million. The people are crazy drivers and bicyclists! Here are some pics of the trip...though they don't do the country justice. Enjoy! (By the way, I'm not trying to be vain by having the pic of me be the largest...I can't figure out why all of the other pictures are so small and won't get larger!!!)

I'm leaving for China in the A.M! Off to the airport at 5 and then flying for a total of 16 hrs (blah!) I'll be there for 2 weeks...let ya know how it is when I return! Much Love!

Completely Random

Hmmm, so not a whole lot to post about. This will probably be pretty random. First of all, Elli is lookin pretty rough in the pic...she is MUCH cuter in person. Baby Q...no good pics of him yet...in June for sure. Anyway, so last week, or I guess on the weekend, we found out that poor little Levi (nephew who is just over 1 yr...pictured there at Christmas when he was 8 months) had strep throat and scarlet fever! As my oldest sister Heather said, "isn't that what Beth in Little Women died from?! hahaha ... sad but true. He's doing better now. Strangely, just about 2 weeks ago, a boy in my 5th grade class had the same thing. Scarlet fever must be making a come back. They say once you get it you'll never get it again. I find that odd too.
Oh, did I mention that my co-op had fallen and broken her wrist (very badly) about 2 weeks before my placement was over. Long story short, it was an answer to prayer because she was one strange lady. I called her BP (bi-polar) because I swear she was. (Obviously not to her face. haha) Anyway, I got a long term sub with me and we got to talking. Geneva came up and she said that's where her husband graduated from. I asked what year, she said 2003...I said so did I haha, and then it turned out it was Mike Short. Remember him?
I've been very into selling books on Amazon these days. Quite addicting, but I'm making good money. I'm going to buy something completely ridiculous and not worth the money with my money. haha Oh well!!!
So I leave for China on Monday and I need to find good walking shoes...that will still look okay with regular clothes/capris. Any suggestions?
Alright, enough rambling and nonsense....

Last Day!

My last day of student teaching is today! woo hoo! I'm then officially done with my masters degree...but it won't be official official till next Friday at graduation. haha More later...

On another note, my ear finally healed, haha, and we are heading out to my sister's because baby Levi's first birthday party is tomorrow! woo hoo! I will be eating well this weekend! :)

Life

So...to let you in on a piece of my life, I have spent much of today filling out job applications. Joy! After filling out some of these, I wonder, what on earth would they ask me if I came for an official interview. I find the whole process ridiculous. And we all know that finding a job in PA is next to none if you do not have any "connections." Not that my heart's desire is to stay here...it's just the principle of the whole thing that is just plain wrong.

Anywho. Back to fifth grade this week, and thankfully it's a short weekend! Then off to NC I believe. Did you ever notice that every Easter it is always cold here?! The forecast for this coming weekend is sleet and snow! lol

I need to go put alcohol on my ear....
